Well for this update some good progress has been made, all of the exterior panels have been cut and buffed and the paint now has a super smooth finish. Currently waiting on some parts for the dash to finish putting it together so went to work putting the box together. My grandfather spend a couple of hours last week taking all the stainless carriage bolts and polishing the heads of them as well as the handful of button heads to add a little pop to the bed.
We had a few worries that we missed some small detail during mockup and with fitting the sides at the tail gate as there was a lot of issues with the gaps, but all the test fitting paid off as the tailgate fits perfectly and opens and closes with no issues. Once the bed sides
, wheel tubs, front panel and tail gate were tightened down, installed the rear light harness and got the backup lights and tail lights reinstalled with new gaskets and lenses.
Also installed the side reflectors. As a little fun trivia, in 1968 every vehicle had to have lighted
side markers due to new regulations on cars, but for some reason the chevy pickups were able to skirt this somehow by just installing reflectors in the sides. All 68 C10s from the factory had just reflectors, in 1969 it was spotty of reflector vs lighted and by 1970 the side markers were lighted.

So much blue! I enjoy these updates. The truck has to be almost all back together by now.

no, the inside of the bed is uncut, it came out really smooth and shiny . The exterior from some reason had alot of orange peel that need to be cut. The inside areas were painted at different time then the exterior.

Pro-tip: the tires in the led photo don’t appear road worthy, I suggest you change them before going on the highway with that truck bed.
Also, the paint looks awesome, nice job!

Thanks,
I was hoping to be able to hit 50 with these, but I might have to swap to some hot wheel relines to be road worthy, lol
